The practical skills of resourceful mechanical understanding receive the respect they deserve in small, independent workshops as seen in Mr. Dalton’s marina. Experience combined with wisdom handed down from older generations may solve problems that book-learning cannot always crack. Have you benefitted from the work of a craftsperson with that kind of hands-on expertise? If you have, by all means let others know what you observed.
